The Testomat Antox solution is supplied in 2x100ml bottles and is a special additive solution for use in Testomat 2000 Antox measuring devices. Oxidising agents such as chlorine, chlorine dioxide or ozone can influence the indicators in water analysis systems and lead to measurement errors. By adding a suitable reducing agent before the analysis, such interference is specifically reduced so that the measurement process can be continued correctly.

Why is Antox solution important for oxidising substances?

Concentrations of oxidising agents such as chlorine, chlorine dioxide or ozone that exceed the limits permitted by the TVO (Drinking Water Ordinance) have a detrimental effect on the dye contained in the Testomat 2000® reagents. An accurate determination of water hardness can then no longer be guaranteed and the Testomat® device displays the error message ‘Measurement error analysis’ (MST analysis). In order to perform the measurement correctly, a reducing agent must be added.

The Testomat 2000® Antox measuring device is a special version of the Testomat 2000® with an additional pump for dosing a reducing agent. Adding a reducing agent to the filled measuring chamber prevents an oxidising agent error before each analysis. Further analysis of the water hardness is then continued according to the standard procedure.

The Antox solution is designed for use with the Testomat 2000 Antox measuring device, which has an additional pump for dosing the reducing agent. Before each hardness measurement, the solution can be dosed automatically or manually to minimise measurement errors caused by oxidising agents.
