The reagent forms the first component in a titration system that photometrically detects chromates or Chromium(VI) in water samples. The measuring range for chromate is 0 to 5.0 mg/l and for Chromium(VI) 0 to 1.0 mg/l, with fine resolution at lower concentration levels and adjusted resolution at higher values. The guaranteed minimum shelf life of 7 months after dispatch allows for long-term use of the reagent. In a complete measuring cycle, Reagent A is used together with the matching second Reagent B (item no.: 156221) in order to initiate the photometrically based measurements in a targeted manner.
