The Duroval TI with pipette (0–60 °f) is a titration test kit for determining water hardness. With its liquid indicator and calibrated pipette, it delivers rapid results.
With the Duroval test kit, you can reliably determine the hardness of your water in French degrees of hardness without an electronic measuring device.
The kit consists of a measuring tube, a stopper to seal the measuring tube, a liquid indicator, a calibrated dosing pipette (0–60 °f French hardness) and 30 ml of titration solution.
Tests: approx. 60 (based on an average hardness of 26.7 °f)
How does the test kit work?
The Duroval method allows for a quick and straightforward determination of the total hardness of water, without the need for any additional equipment. In hard water, the indicator initially turns a deep red. When the titration solution is then added, it binds the hardness components, causing the colour to change from red to green. The volume of titration solution dispensed using the measuring pipette up to this colour change corresponds to the hardness of the water sample. The total hardness value can be read directly from the measuring pipette.

The Duroval Indicator Refill Pack is a small bottle of liquid indicator required to restore the water hardness test kit to working order. This is used in a Duroval titration test kit so that, when measuring water hardness, it is immediately apparent when the chemicals react and the result is confirmed. In combination with the titration solution, this leads to a colour change at the endpoint. This colour change allows you to determine water hardness without the need for technical equipment. What is the refill pack suitable for? The refill pack is only suitable if you already have the appropriate test kit and the colour indicator needs replacing. It is not suitable as a standalone product for measurement without a test kit. What does the liquid indicator do? The indicator ensures that the endpoint of the titration becomes visible, i.e. the exact moment when the colour change occurs. Without this colour change, it is difficult to achieve accurate results.
